Cardboard Robot Parade
Here is all you need to know to navigate throughout the day!
Stop 1: Cardboard Robot Outfitting Center - Visit the back porch to select the box that you will use for your wearable cardboard robot.
Stop 2: Cardboard Robot Modification Station - Our Cardboard Engineers will assist you in cutting arm, head and eye holes for your robot. Only certified Cardboard Engineers may use our sharp cutting saws. If you would like to cut additional holes in your robot, there are child-safe saws located in the Engineering Pods inside the building
Stop 3: Engineering Pods 1, 2, and 3 - Choose one of our Engineering Pods in Rooms 108, 110, or 118. You will find tons of art supplies, glue, tape, and extra cardboard to make your amazing cardboard robots. Our Cardboard Engineers and Imagination Librarians are located in the pods to help you with your project.
Get Vito to the Cardboard Robot Parade - Help Vito find all the pieces of his Cardboard Robot Robo-Rickshaw! Play our digital maze game in Room 106. While you’re in there, be sure to check out KQ Radio and share your favorite memory of science education for our upcoming podcast.
Glorp, The All-Knowing and Henri the Automaton - In the back lobby, pay a visit to Glorp, the All-Knowing to have your fortune read and give Henri the Automaton a spin to make him dance! These installations were created by Mutt and painted by our student artists, Phoenyx and Ellie.
The Cardboard Robot Factory will close at 3:30 PM. At 3:30 PM, make your way to the lawn of the Elliott Union Center to line up for the parade. The parade will begin marching at 3:50 PM.
Be sure to purchase your Cardboard Robot Raffle table in the lobby before 3:30 PM. Tickets are $2 for 1, or $5 for 3 tickets. We will draw winners at 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM and 3:30 PM. There are over 70 prizes, so your chances of winning are great! We have T-shirts (children and adult sizes), posters, prints, and more!
Good luck!
